The following verse from The Quran makes it clear that enjoyment of gold and silver are allowed: Alluring unto man is the enjoyment of worldly desires through women, and children, and heaps of gold and silver, and horses of high mark, and cattle, and lands. All this may be enjoyed in the life of this world – but the most beauteous of all goals is with God. ‘যাকাত’  কী, কেনো? -------------------------------------- ইসলামের প্রথাগত ঘরণায় (Traditionalist) অর্থাৎ প্রচলিত মোল্লাতান্ত্রিক ডিসকোর্সে  ‘যাকাত’ বলতে বোঝায়  অর্জিত সম্পদের উপর  নির্দিষ্ট অনুপাতে (২.৫%) ধার্যকৃত  আবশ্যকীয় দান/কর পরিশোধ করা।  যাকাতের তাৎপর্য  সংকীর্ণ অর্থে  সম্পদের পরিশুদ্ধতার জন্যে, ব্যাপক অর্থে  নফসের  পরিশুদ্ধতার জন্যে।  দানকে দু’ভাগে ভাগ করা হয়েছে, যেখানে  যাকাত হচ্ছে আবশ্যকীয় দান ও সাদাকা ঐচ্ছিক দান। তবে কুর’আনের যাকাত ও দান সম্পর্কিত আয়াতগুলি পাঠ করে যাকাতের এমন  অর্থ যথার্থ মনে হয় না। -- (২) কুর’আনে ‘যাকাত’ শব্দটি এসেছে অনেকবার, কিন্তু  সম্পদের উপর নির্দিষ্ট অনুপাতে ধার্যকৃত আবশ্যকীয় করারোপ, বা দান হিসেবে একবারও উল্লেখ করা হয় নি। ব্যয় করা বা  দান করা বোঝাতে সাদাকা ও 'আনফাক' শব্দটি  এসেছে কুর'আনে। কল্যাণ কাজে নিজের অর্জিত সম্পদ থেকে ব্যয় বা  দান  করা প্রত্যেক স্বচ্ছল মুসলিমের জন্য আবশ্যকীয় মনে করাই উচিত কেননা তা আল-লাহর নির্দেশ, এটি ঐচ্ছিক বিষয় নয়, আর যা সাধারণ বিবেকবোধ দিয়ে ...
