12:4note/verse-11planets,sun,moon prostrating

12:4note/verse-11planets,sun,moon prostrating An Adventure Starting with a Dream. (Edip's Note) . 12:4 When Joseph said to his father: "My father, I have seen eleven planets and the sun and the moon, I saw them prostrating before me." Note. The dream perhaps has another prophetic meaning besides the one related to Joseph's family. For Joseph and his family, the dream was fulfilled about 2600 years ago with a good ending (*12:100). As for the other meaning of the dream, it is still waiting to be fulfilled. Does this allegory give us a clue regarding the number of planets in the solar system? The number of planets in our solar system may ultimately be determined by the conventional definition of astronomers and remain controversial for long time to come. Interestingly, the differences between planets and the controversy around them too resemble the differences between brothers and half brothers and their acceptance and dynamics in the family. The Old Testament nar...

Why Was the Quran Revealed in Arabic?

Why Was the Quran Revealed in Arabic? We learn from 41:44 that the sincere believers have access to the Quran, regardless of their mother tongue. The disbelievers, on the other hand, are not permitted access to the Quran, even if they are professors of the Arabic language [📍(41:44, 17:45, 18:57, & 56:79)]. Arabic is the most efficient language in the world, especially when it comes to the precise statement of laws. Since the Quran is a Statute Book, it was crucial that such laws must be clearly stated. God chose Arabic for His Final Testament because of the obvious reason that it is the most suitable language for that purpose. Arabic is unique in its efficiency and accuracy. For example, the word "they" in English does not tell you if "they" are males or females. In Arabic there is a "they" for the males, "HUM," and a "they" for the females, "HUNNA." There is even a "they" for two males, "HUMAA," and a...

Al-Ghaib(basis on 2:3)

Al-Ghaib(basis on 2:3) . Al-Ghayeb = The Unseen: The likeness of a seed that is beneath the soil hidden from a farmer’s view. Yet the farmer believes that given proper environment and care the seed will sprout. 9:119, 57:20, 89:27(sa). ।।। Al-ghayb (commonly, and erroneously, translated as "the Unseen") is used in the Qur'an to denote all those sectors or phases of reality which lie beyond the range of human perception and cannot, therefore, be proved or disproved by scientific observation or even adequately comprised within the accepted categories of speculative thought: as, for instance, the existence of God and of a definite purpose underlying the universe, life after death, the real nature of time, the existence of spiritual forces and their inter-action, and so forth. Only a person who is convinced that the ultimate reality comprises far more than our observable environment can attain to belief in God and, thus, to a belief that life has meaning and purpose. By point...

On The Term And Concept Of Jinn

On The Term And Concept Of Jinn. . IN ORDER to grasp the purport of the term JINN as used in the Quran, we must dissociate our minds from the meaning given to it in Arabian folklore, where it early came to denote all manner of "demons" in the most popular sense of this word. This folkloristic image has somewhat obscured the original connotation of the term and its highly significant - almost self-explanatory -verbal derivation. The root-verb is JANNA, "he [or "it"] concealed" or "covered with darkness": cf. 6:76, which speaks of Abraham "when the night overshadowed him with its darkness (janna alayhi)". Since this verb is also used in the intransitive sense ("he [or "it"] was [or "became"] concealed", resp. "covered with darkness"), all classical philologists point out that al-jinn signifies "intense [or "confusing"] darkness" and, in a more general sense, "that which is c...

11:24-Is it comparable Blind/Deaf=See/Hear?

11:24-Is it comparable Blind/Deaf=See/Hear? . 11:24 These two kinds of persons may be likened to the blind and the deaf, and he who can see and hear well. Are the two equal when compared? Will you not then keep this in mind? (📍13:16-19, 35:39).(sa). Note.(sa). A brief historical resume of some communities and their Messengers illustrates this phenomenon - the efforts of the Messengers and the reaction of their respective people. Using Tasreef, here are some related verses about people and their Messengers described in Surah Hud. The Quran: A Complete and fully detailed Book

The Quran: A Complete and fully detailed Book  Belief in the Quran can be called genuine only if a person believes and upholds six prime attributes of the Book: . FIRST : The Quran is the word of God. SECOND : The Quran is perfect with no contradictions. THIRD : The Quran is clear and with no ambiguity. FOURTH : The Quran is straightforward with no crookedness. FIFTH : The Quran is complete. SIXTH : The Quran is fully detailed. . All Muslims will certainly testify to the first condition, that the Quran is the word of God. It is in connection to the other five conditions that they will have lots of 'ifs and buts'! Sadly the great majority of Muslims will fall short on some, or on all of the other five attributes. Let us consider these six attributes in more detail. . FIRST The Quran is the word of God . The Quran includes a physical proof which confirms beyond any doubt that the Book is God given and not the work of any human being: . And this is a bles...

The importance of trusting(Tawakkal) in God

The importance of trusting in God By: A. Muhammad Trusting in God is an option available to all people. Undoubtedly, it is the choice of those who believe in God's absolute authority over all things. Whether we choose to trust in God or choose not to, God will not interfere in the actions we do, but we are given complete freedom over all our actions. Trusting in God reaps many benefits for the believers: 1-   God grants those who trust in Him blessings in this life and in the Hereafter: We will  grant them well in this life, and the reward of the Hereafter is greater , if they only knew. They are the ones who are patient, and  in their Lord they trust . 16:41-42 Whatever you have been given is but the enjoyment of the worldly life, while  what is with God is better  and longer lasting  for those who believe, and in their Lord they trust . 42:36 Those who believe and do good deeds, We will settle them in mansions in Paradise beneath which rivers fl...

33:40-Was Muhammad the last messenger?

33:40-Was Muhammad the last messenger? Muhammad was not the father of any of your men, but he was the messenger of God and the seal of the prophets. God is Knowledgeable of all things. 33:40 This glorious verse, which speaks about prophet Muhammad, tells us that he was a messenger of God and the final prophet. The Quran provides a clear difference between prophets, and messengers who are not prophets. Please see: Prophet and messenger. The meaning of this verse was sadly misunderstood by many scholars so as to call Muhammad the last messenger and last prophet. It is clear that in this verse, Muhammad is called 'a messenger' and not the 'last messenger'. Nowhere in the Quran is Muhammad called the 'last messenger'. Nevertheless, the traditional scholars insist on calling Muhammad the 'last messenger'. Perhaps the main reason for this corruption is due to the scholars' ignorance of the fact that God makes a clear distinction in the Quran between the te...
