“God has bought from the believers their selves and...” (At-Tawbah 9:111)

“God has bought from the believers their selves and...” (At-Tawbah 9:111) إِنَّ اللَّهَ اشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُم بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ “God has bought from the believers their selves and wealth because Paradise is for them.” (At-Tawbah 9:111) The verse above means that God will buy the transient lives and wealth of the believers in return for their eternal rewards in Paradise. Indeed, God wills to buy their souls or lives and wealth to bestow on them Paradise in the Hereafter in return. There is a significant point here worth mentioning. Although, as stated above in interpreting verse 🍒9:20, the Qur’ān usually mentions wealth prior to life or the soul, in this verse 🚸9:111 life comes before wealth. This is because life is more important than the wealth for human beings in the Hereafter. Wealth that has gained value by being used in God’s cause comes after the life or soul sacrificed for God’s sake. Clearly, if one cannot enter Paradise, what signif...

Meaning of "ala" -"tusalli ala"-9:84(5:106), 33:56

Meaning of "ala" -"tusalli ala"-9:84, 33:56 . You shall not "tusalli ala" (support) any one of them who died, nor shall you stand at his grave. They have disbelieved in God and His messenger and died in a state of wickedness(9:84). The word Al-Salaat🔸 is used in the Quran to mean the Prayer, however every time the word Salaat is followed by the word "ala" (over) it always means "support". The words in 9:84 say "la tussalli ala" (do not support). We can see the other examples in the Quran where the word ALA is used after the word Salat and in every case it means support and not prayer: God and His angels ‘Yu'salloon ala al-Nabi’ (support the prophet). O you who believe 'Salloo alayhee' (support him) and ‘Sallemoo tasleema’ (accept him wholeheartedly)(33:56). The command in 33:56 was to support the prophet while he was alive, now he is dead we cannot support a dead man. . He is the One who ‘Yu'salli alai...

Jihad per Quran

9:73 O PROPHET! Strive hard against the deniers of the truth and the hypocrites, and be adamant with them.* And [if they do not repent,] their goal shall be hell -and how vile a journey's end! Note* I.e., "do not compromise with them in matters of principle". Regarding the meaning of the verb jahada ("he strove hard", i.e., in a righteous cause), see surah 4:95∆, note **. The imperative jahid☎️ is obviously used here in its spiritual connotation, implying efforts at convincing both the outspoken unbelievers and the waverers, including the various types of hypocrites spoken of in the preceding passages. Although the imperative is addressed in the first instance to the Prophet, it ...
